So, it's been 5 months since the end of 2007...but you know, limited release schedule, dvd release gaps, etc. and there's always a handful of films you just never get to. But with what I've seen so far, June 1st seems like the perfect day to post a delayed Top 10 for the previous year.

Absolutely loved Ratatouille, but wasn't so crazy about Atonement. I felt ... manipulated by the ending. Still, it was winningly directed.
ReplyDeleteI would say of the list Enchanted has been the overall favorite of my whole family. I also liked Ratatouille and Juno as well though. great list!
ReplyDeletewow, jesse james was assigned. that must have hurt. :) i loved gone baby gone.
ReplyDelete@ Amy...
ReplyDeletehonestly, I almost always mispell Assassination as Assignation...I don't know why? I just edited in my post above. Thanks!
The only one on that list I've seen is Juno, which I thought was amazing. Your 3,4, and 8 picks are on my list to rent.
ReplyDeleteIf I could do a revised list of 2007 I would include *Diving Bell* too.
ReplyDeleteShame on me for not making the effort when it was in theaters. I had to watch it on DVD.
What about "The Kite Runner"?
ReplyDeleteI've seen 5 of your 10:
Ratatouille
Atonement
Enchanted
Juno
There Will Be Blood
I loved the first 4.
I was neutral on TWBB. Daniel Day Lewis saved what would've been a boring movie for me.
I'm going to assume that you didn't see Once, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, or My Kid Could Paint That.
ReplyDelete@ anthony - kite runner's coming in at 17 right now.
ReplyDelete&
@ jeremy, Once is coming at 29, sorry...I'm not a huge Once fan...please don't shun me forever. And actually I haven't seen King Kong or My Kid Could Pain That yet.
Diving Bell and Jesse James are two I meant to see and now I probably will. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteMy Top 10 List also had No Country for Old Men, Once, Juno, Superbad, and The Orphanage.

This shows how sad my 2007 movie watching was. I think I've only seen ONE of these movies - atonement - and I didn't think that one was that great (great MOVIE, well done, wasn't thrilled about the story.). I still WANT to see more of them. I'll have to hit the DVD rentals once I have less school getting in the way!
