For some reason, I thought she was like Kate Winslett or Meryl Streep and had been nominated tons! I guess 5 is a lot, hrmm.

Having just seen Australia tonight, and despite having loved it (I'm a big Baz Lurhman fan), I have a hard time seeing it as a serious Oscar contender. I mean, it's big, epic, great talent, but it's also so stylized in the typical Baz way that almost borders on cheesy at times, that it just doesn't scream Oscar to me. Then again, Nicole Kidman did get nominated for Moulin Rouge, so I wouldn't be surprised if she scores another nomination.crackers and cheesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15903450123621135348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21082552.post-72663768014760904602008-11-28T22:47:00.000-07:002008-11-28T22:47:00.000-07:00Cate's buzz has certainly begun, many of the revie...Cate's buzz has certainly begun, many of the reviews say she is a sure bet for a Best Actress nod.

There are still quite a few films I need to see, but my line-up is:
Cate Blanchett *
Kate Winslet
Kristin Scott Thomas
Meryl Streep
Nicole KidmanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
