
There are many unrealistic characteristics to her character, but her compelling portrayl of the accidentally-bad nanny is very compelling.
There's something to be said about a character who although completly flawed (as a result of the screenplay) who ends up being totally believable as a result of her acting.

I agree. Barraza is the only thing that's stayed with me from Babel. I am delighted (and shocked) that she's enduring the lengthy awards run.
ReplyDeletealong with Rinko Kikuchi they both give the best 2 performances of the year... it is hard to appreciate a performance in what many are calling a mess of a movie... but Barraza shows her skills afterall she is an acting teacher, one that has shared here knowledge with so many entertainers from Gael Garcia Bernal to Paz Vega.
