Star Power in 2011

Last year I did a post about Star Power in 2010 films, and if you based star power off box office, you'd be surprsised as which contenders showed up in multiple top 10 films. The three people who shows up in 2010 having Star Power based on this scale where:

○ Jeff Bridges (Tron Legacy, True Grit)
○ Helena Bonhem Carter (Alice In Wonderland, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part I)
○ Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part I, Clash of the Titans)

I thought I would test 2011 against the same standards.

Top Grossing Live Action Films and Their Stars:

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (Daniel Ratcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, Gary Oldman, Helena Bonhem Carter, Ralph Fiennes)

2. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley,Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich)

3. Twillight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene)

4. The Hangover Part II (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha)

5. Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides (Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffery Rush)

6. Fast Five (Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, The Rock, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson)

7. Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol (Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton)

8. Sherlock Holmes:A Game of Shadows (Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Jared Harris, Noomi Rapace)

9. Thor (Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgard, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston)

10. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (James Franco, Frieda Pinto, Andy Serkis)

Who's the only name to appear twice...??
Tyrese Gibson with roles in Transfermers: Dark of the Moon and Fast Five.

Note: You could claim Jeremy Renner appears twice as well, but the role in Thor is truly a cameo, so I do not count it for the purposes of this list.

To be fair about Jeremy Renner - his small part in Thor is actually to introduce/continue that character (Hawkeye) in the Avengers movie (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0036535)...

But a random assortment of people, anyway! :)
