Jack Johnson - Media Sage Vol. 3 (Good People)

This is the last post of the series of Media Sage post for now (at least until I hear or find another song of Jack's that fits the bill.)

On his album "Inbetween Dreams" he has a really good song on it, one of my favorites called Good People. Which if you look at the lyrics is written in the beginning as if it's fight over which channel to watch on television.

Cause people
Will tune in
How many train wrecks do we need to see?
Before we lose touch of
We thought this was low
It's bad gettin worse so
Whered all the good people go
Ive been changin channels
I dont see them on the tv shows
Whered all the good people go
We got heaps and heaps of what we sow

There's a few other little media comments in the song but this is the bulkies and fullest section, you can check out the full lyrics to Good People here.

Hope you enjoyed these post, perhpas you can think of other Jack Johnson songs that speak of culture, or perhaps other artists who have also written songs of this nature.

Thought I would pass this on to you-In the mid 90's I had friends who would bring back basement recordings of Jack Johnson from their trips to Hawaii. We would play the tapes at parties here in California and every girl would stop and freak out, they loved his voice like I had never seen. His voice holds some sort of special power of women. I wish I still had those tapes, they are probably priceless now.
