Samuel L. Jackson's Best and Worst: Your Vote

There is bizarre blog popularity of the horrific sounding movie Snakes on A Plane staring Samuel L. Jackson. (The premise is simply ridiculous: On board a flight over the Pacific Ocean, an assassin, bent on killing a passenger who's a witness in protective custody, lets loose a crate full of deadly snakes... via imdb.com)

Samuel L. Jackson has appeared in over 80 films and television shows since 1990...so I ask you...click on the link to his name and look at all the roles he's play. What's Jackson's best work and what's Jackson's worse.

Here's my vote:
Best Samuel L. Jackson acting - Unbreakable (2000)
runner up: Pulp Fiction (1994) & The Negotiator (1998)

Worst Samuel L. Jackson acting - Star Wars: Episode III (2005)
runner up: The Red Violin (1999) (I love this movie and he's by far the worst actor in the whole film)

Now it's your turn to vote by leaving a comment below!

Worst: xXx
Yeah, I saw it, but it was a on a free pass, so I don't think it should be held against me.

I second Jeremy's post.

Also, the least impact he made was in Johnny Suede starring Brad Pitt.

Best: Pulp Fiction

Worst: The Deep. Absolutely effing bizarre. I hope he got a swimming pool out of that, or something.

I join the concensus with Pulp Fiction. I also liked him in Die Hard 3, Jackie Brown, Changing Lanes and many others.

As far as worst, I haven't seen them all, but I just watched xXx: State of the Union. Pretty Lame. I didn't care for him in Star Wars, either

His best is Snakes on a Plane. It is absolutely perfect for him. If the producers are smart, they will never release this film. There is no way that it can live down to people's expectations.

SLJ's worst? Without a doubt - The Red Violin. I like SLJ. I like the color red. And, I like violins. I also like apple pie and blue cheese. That doesn't mean I want blue cheese on my apple pie.

Blue Cheese and Apple Pie go together like mayonaisse and bananas.

I must not see enought recently made movies because can't think of a best performance.

I have a nominee for worst Jackson performance. It's one of his earliest starring roles: "National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon I"

It's a parody of the "Lethal Weapon" movies. It's not so much a bad movie, as a half-bad movie, but Jackson easily gives one of the worst performances in the movie.

Emilio Estevez has a lot of lame gags, but is good as the unhinged Mel Gibson type, then Estevez is usually good as unhinged types. I guess all he has to do his study his family.

Allyce Beasley and Kathy Ireland are good as the female lead. (Beasley turns into Ireland whn she lets down her hair and take off her glases.)

William Shatner is a bit miscast as the badguy.

Jon Lovitz is good as the Pesci style informant.

Whoopi Goldberg and Tim Curry are Whoopi Goldberg and Tim Curry.

The guy who
plays Estevez's and Jackson's coss, WHO SHOUTS EVERY WORD HE SPEAKS, is really great. He must not have gone hoarse. Because he played the same exact role in "The Last Actio Hero".

The only worse performance than SLJ is F. Murray Abraham's lame parody of Hannibal Lecter. I've never seen Dom DeLuise's version in "Silence of the Hams". But I don't see how it could be worse.
