Stalker Music

In my last post, Jasdye responded to comments about Dreamgirls and the song "You're going to Love me" saying:

"it sounds like that song is a total creepy stalker song, but then again, so was 'every breath you take."

I got to agree Sting's "Every Breath you Take" is super-stalkerish. But my runner up for most stalkeresque song would have to be Invisible by Clay Aikens. There are few scarier lines in music than... "If I was invisible then I could just watch you in your room"

i agree those are creepy....what's even creepier is that millions sing along in unison not realizing what they are saying.

Think of Willie Nelson singing "You Were Always on My Mind" in that context if you really want to get creeped out. :D

esp. if you consider him hanging with jessica simpson.

Hey, what about the old Come To My Window ditty by Melissa Etheridge?

There's this song that I really like by Imogen Heap (Goodnight and Go) that has a similar line. It says...

"Follow you home,
You've got your headphones on
And you're dancing
Got lucky;
Beautiful shot:
You're taking everything off
Watch the curtains wide open
And you're following the same routine;
Flicking through the TV, relaxed and reclining
And you think you're alone..."

But if you leave that part out...it's a good song!

As far as stalker songs go, I have to agree with "Every Breath You Take," although I would also go with "One Way Or Another" by Blondie and "Got to Get Close to You" by Queensryche.

i still prefer "i'm a creep, i'm a weirdo, i don't belong here..."

blondie did "One way or another"? somehow, i don't think that's right.

and the radiohead song... possible. it's been awhile...

Yes, Blondie did do "One Way or Another." It's on their Parallel Lines album. I used to own it on vinyl. (-:

The Police discography is chock full of stalker songs. Consider Can't Stand Losing You:

I've called you so many times today
And I guess its all true what your girlfriends say
That you dont ever want to see me again

And Don't Stand So Close to Me:

Temptation, frustration
So bad it makes him cry
