Andrew at Encore Entertainment mentioned in my most recent post about the Big 5 (Picture, Director, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Screenplay), mentioned his interest in seeing a film getting a nomination for all four acting categories.13 films have this honor...

- A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)

- Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967)
- Network (1976)
- Coming Home (1978)
- Reds (1981)
Could a 2009 film gain this honor? Probably not, but maybe...
- An Education (Carey Mulligan, Peter Sargaard, Emma Thompson, Alfred Molina)
- The Lovely Bones (Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz/Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci)
So in short...probably no chance unless the Academy doesn't just love one of these films but wants to throw everything it can at one of these two films.

Side note: No film has won in all four categories, and 4 of the films listed above actually had 5 nominations due to double nominations in a category.

I never clicked about Guess Who's Coming to Dinner getting four nods. I'm sure Chicago almost made it onto the list. But I don't see it happening any time soon.a
This would be such a remarkable accomplishment if a film this year could score nominations in all four categories. But, like you said, it seems doubtful to put it likely, and I wonder how long it will be until it happens again, or even will it happen again?
And it still bugs the crap out of me of all people in 'Streetcar', Brando... Brando! was the one that didn't win an Oscar.
