And maybe it was me, but I kept on thinking "who is this guy and how did he get cast?"
Well imagine my surprise when I saw he was going to be appearing in 3 award caliber films this year, the Elizabeth sequel The Golden Age, The Other Boleyn Girl, and Savage Grace alongside Julianne Moore.
Am I missing something? Also Matt Damon does a great job at a role that he's already done a handful of times. Matt, you need some more role diversity, and I'm not talking about playing Captian Kirk in Star Trek.

I remember seeing him in The Good Shepherd and thinking he did a really bad job. I felt like he could have made me care about his fiancee, even if his parents didn't, but he just seemed like he was trying too hard. Suprisingly that he's in so many high-profile films this year. I'm going with the agent theory.

I have to admit to being mystified as to how this kid could get cast in so many movies. I've yet to see The Good Shepherd, but I must say he really doesn't impress me as being the next Haley Joel Osment. I have to agree--he must have a really good agent, and probably parents with loads of dough to pay said agent....
Man I thought this kid was one of the best things in the film- the character was weak he even pissed himself as a kid- but his performance completely moved me. Apologies but I'm going for the talent.

Eddie Redmayne is a brilliant up and coming young actor, perhaps you find his performance in this film weak (i haven't seen it), but his work elsewhere is to a very high and gripping standard.
Being an actor myself, it's really not an easy job - and for his age, he's doing just fine. Good luck to the boy!
Maybe you should watch 'Like Minds' and the series 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles'... I'm gonna watch this movie now, and I can't tell whether or not the guy did a good job in it, but if you check out his other works you'll probably come to notice that the boy has talent and not that mommy and daddy have big doughs to pay him a fine agent ;)
I'm really happy to have found this blog, finally I can weigh in on an actor that irritates me like no other actors ever have. He mumbles when he talks and sounds like he is retarded. I don't mean it as an insult, but I mean that his diction sounds like a person who is mentally handicapped or perhaps just injured in a crash. He MUST have a good agent
