A seasoned reader of Strange Culture (or anyone who knows me) might be aware that when it comes to sweets, it's all about white cake with white frosting (see evidence here, here, here, & here).
But until Hershey's or Mars start mass producing petit fours for mass consumption, white cake just can't make the list of favorite snack size candies.
So in honor of Halloween, the most sugar driven holiday of them all...
My top 10 favorite candies available in "fun size":
1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
2. Kit Kats
3. Twix
4. Reese's Pieces
5. Take 5 Bar
6. Mounds
7. Bottle Caps
8. Butterfinger
9. Junior Mints
10. Hot Tamales
(Rounding out the bottom of the list at number 124-136 is any thing with the word tootsie in it...tootsie roll, tootsie pop, tootsie roll bar..whatever...chocolate taffy is a nasty flavor for taffy)
What tops your list?

It's hard to beat Reese's Cups, but I also really like those bite-sized 3 Musketeers bars. Milk Duds are also a classic, and I don't mind a bit of candy corn in very small amounts.
I would add the little boxes of Milk Duds and the packets of Sugar Babies (I LOVE caramel!)
Wish you could swing by our house tonight then because I have peanut butter cups and kit kats for my trick-or-treaters. I always get my favorites in case no kids show up.
thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment! I'd have to add Snickers to your list of top candies...
Ah, I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups too. They also top my list. Yes, I love candy, but I hate the extra calories.
Wait, hot tamales? That's an interesting choice. I like tamales, but I've never considered them candy.
@ marius...have you never had hot tomales...the cinnamon little candy pieces...oh...you're missing out. we'll talk!
@ jordan...candy corns okay, but certainly not top 10 worthy. I remember trying "Three Muskateers flavored Chocolate Milk once, now that was interesting
@ ak...i didn't know you were a carmel fan...i have taken note.
@ amy...feel free to mail me all extra candy!
@ jen...snickers is my sisters favorite...but for me...i don't dislike nuts...but snickers doesn't satisfy me like it satisfys her and many many other females i have known.
What are you dressing up as this year? And did you allow your employees to dress up? I could only pull off a witch's hat with my normal work clothes.
ooooooooo. I'm a junior mints gal all the way!
Everyone at the office is trying to rot out my teeth by having a candy tub in every cubicle for the past month. I've become a huge fan of Milk Duds and Whoppers.
I think M&Ms may be my favourite candy of all time. I also loved the old Marathon bars they made back in the Seventies (American, not British).
I have a major weakness for Fifth Avenue bars, but they're not so easy to find.... they're especially few and far with respect to "bite size" portions, but I do remember buying two bag fulls a few years back around Halloween when I found them in the supermarket.
I never eat them any other time of the year, but bite-sized Crunchie bars are my favorite Hallowe'en treat. I don't know if this is a Canadian chocolate bar that you won't know about...but it is basically sponge toffee coated in chocolate. YUMMY!!!
I KNOW that you have written about white cake in other places...I'm just too lazy to look them up. We need to get AK the recipe for Turtle cake....
@sher...i didn't dress up this year. I think next year you need to be a good witch with a pink and white hat...maybe even sparkles...it'd be a fun change up!
@ mercurie, i've never had a marathon bar...sounds falsely healthy. i think i'm going to event a candy bar called 5k, or how about lap pool or touchdown
@ paula, sponge toffy? sounds like i need to try a crunchie!
@ mary ann...i hope you passed that recipe on to AK...i gave her your e-mail address.
Your candy choices are quite different from mine. I like Mounds, but other than that I like: Milky Way and 3 Musketeers.
