Have you ever used bloglines?If you haven't it's great...you can set up an account really easily and put the urls to all your favorite sites into the program and when you log in it will show you what blogs you check have had updates, and you can even read the post directly from bloglines.
I probably use it to check your blog, maybe you'd be interested in using to keep in touch with strangeculture and your other favorite online blogs.
