It is an episode I remembered very strongly that was a comical episode where where Agent Dana Skully and Fox Mulder go to Texas to investigate a series of incidents were cows appear to have been attacked by vampires, and suddenly there has been a progression to people. In the episode both Skully and Mulder have to explain their sides of the story to director Skinner.With a little research (aka a google search of: x-files vampire cows episode) and I see many sites where people explain in detail the episode entitled Bad Blood which originally aired February 22, 1998.
Like I said, I very much remembered this episode, especially the look and feel. Yet I never realized that the main character in this episode (apart from Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny) was Luke Wilson.Luke Wilson played a very comidicly written role in this episode. Wilson played Sheriff Hartwell who in Skully's rendition of the events was a dashing man who had a thing for her, and in Mulder's version was a bucked-tooth incompetant Texas sheriff.
As much as I'm suprised I'm writing this...Luke Wilson really made this episode excellent. While I'm sure much of it was the writing and the tone, this frat pack actor was perfectly cast.

It is hard to mentally break out of picturing Guillian as Scully and Duchovny. I saw a bad B movie that had William B Davis (aka smoking man) as a kindly grandfather, and I kept waiting for him to light up.
I loved that episode and I can't say I remember Wilson in ti! Time to bring out the DVDs....
My favourite was DPO with the, then yet to be discovered, Giovanni Ribisi. But perhaps the best episodes of the show, ever, were the ones with Eugene Toombs (Starting in S1E3's "Squeeze" - and the fact that I remember that truly shows my X-Files geekyness). That guy was FREAKY.
I'm one of those people that know all the names of all the X-Files episodes. Yes, I'm a loser. I often have a difficult time crafting a top ten list of favorite episodes, but for the sake of brevity, I'll just say that my favorite is "Jose Chung's From Outer Space."
Season 3. Charles Nelson Reilly guest stars as an author trying to find out the truth being a teenager's claim of alien abduction. So awesome.
I really loved the X-files episodes when they actually went out and investigated paranormal activity.
They started to totally lose me when they got into the personal---Mulder's sister/Scully's abduction, etc.
It was like watching Moonlighting when David and Maddy finally became a couple. Boring.
That's an awesome episode to pick as favorite. I'm torn on my favorite, but "Bad Blood" is easily in my top three.
Luke Wilson was great in it. I also loved how much the characters and personalities of Scully and Mulder were revealed in their differing accounts. One of the most humorous and enjoyable episodes of the series.
Damn I miss that show.
It's Scully not Skully. If you're going to bother dedicating an entire blog entry to a television series at least do a bit of research and spell the character names correctly.
