Is it sad that after the initial shock of Heath Ledger's death subsided, one of the first things I thought was, "He'll probably win a posthumous Oscar for playing the Joker!"
I'd be very surprised if he at least doesn't get a nomination. Sadly, I haven't heard of most of the films you've mentioned, so I'm not even going to attempt to comment on those. So, in about 8 months we'll see how accurate you are!
My predictions:
1. Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight: First reviews said he was outstading. second acting posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch is very possible. July release is not necessary a problem (Julie Christie fact)
2. Liev Schreiber, Defiance
3. koby Smit-McPhee, The Road
4. Robert Downey Jr., The Soloist
5. One of the Milk's guys
