Andhadhun (2018)

This is going to be a short post.

The movie Andhadhun is an Indian film, that frankly - might be one of my most favorite films I've watched in the past year.

I watched it because it's on the IMDb.com top 250 list of films I had not seen -- among a number of Indian films - but this one is different then other Indian films I've seen (which to be fair span all types of genres), and by different, there is a level of comedic irreverence in this one that takes some surprising turns...such that I won't give a plot summary beyond the initial premise in that it's the story of a blind pianist who lives alone with his cat. That's all I'm giving you.

Shortly after watching this film with my wife we were away on a trip with friends who I convinced to watch as well - the group collective may not have entirely shared my love, but the film continued to be referenced after watching both references to comedic moments, catchy song lyrics and discussion on some plot points.

It's films like this that continue to encourage utilizing the imdb.com top 250 as a tool to identify some of the best movies -- maybe not the critical Oscar darlings (this wasn't in the spotlight like Roma, but if I'm honest - I enjoyed this one so much more).
