The biggest film reunion of the year is Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio teaming up again under Sam Mendes direction for Revolutionary Road.
A far less talked about reunion is that Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett stared as husband and wife in Babel, and now return as "life-long" love interest in the David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Even though be haven't talked about it, when I saw Benjamin Button in the theater I couldn't help but remember that connections.
Yet, a further connection that I find even more interesting is the Elle Fanning connection. In Benjamin Button Elle Fanning plays young Daisy (pictured above).
For the majority of the movie Daisy is played by Cate Blanchett, but while Daisy is a young girl, Fanning has the honor and shares the screen with Brad Pitt as an old looking juvenile man.
In Babel, Elle Fanning is the child of Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt who is stuck in the United States and Mexico while her parents Pitt & Blanchett are overseas. I've joked before how Elle Fanning has received roles in more "critically acclaimed films" that Dakota Fanning, and you can add Benjamin Button to the list.
As long as Elle Fanning is deemed an actress who can appropriately play an earlier incarnation of Cate Blanchett or her daughter, I think Elle Fanning is in for a great career. What a compliment, and what an interesting group of three actors to once again be grouped together in a film.

But Dakota did 'I am Sam' ;)
I totally forgot she was in Babel, but I've got to agree - generally speaking, she's been in much better films than Dakota.
Actually, Michael, both of the sisters were in I am Sam.
I too made the Babel/CCOBB connection but I don't think Elle shared any scenes with either Brad or Cate in Babel.
Elle is so pretty. I loved daisy when Elle played her, more than when Cate did. I dunno, she just seemed more lovable. I wish elle all the luck :)
